BURNING TREE VILLAGE
Home: Welcome

Burning Tree Village is a neighborhood charitable organization for the 700 households closest to Burning Tree Elementary School in Bethesda, Maryland, designed to enhance our neighborly support of one another. While a chief goal of the organization is to help senior residents who want to remain in their homes as long as possible, at the same time, Burning Tree Village promotes activities that benefit all members of the neighborhood across generations. We do this through volunteer activities, educational and social programs, and partnerships with other individuals and organizations that complement our volunteer activities. By engaging all residents in these activities, Burning Tree Village helps foster a caring, supportive and friendly atmosphere that enhances the quality of life in our entire community and helps make this a wonderful neighborhood in which to live.

There are many ways to get involved and we look forward to your participation!

County Pilot Program Aims to Help Older Adults Live Safely at Home

Burning Tree Village residents in need of extra support to live safely in their homes can now request assistance with managing that support—free of charge—from Montgomery County's Village Care Manager. The care manager, a new position created through a pilot county program, works with older adults living in one of the county's village communities (like Burning Tree Village) to help them and their families with the following types of needs:

  • identifying care needs to assist with care coordination

  • creating a comprehensive care plan that includes resources and/or referrals

  • monitoring the plan outcomes

  • ensuring medical wishes are known

  • navigating other difficult topics and choices

For more information or a referral, email Amy Rider, Burning Tree Village's administrative assistant. Your privacy will be protected.

Burning Tree Village Offers Tech Coaching Program

We are recruiting volunteers to serve as tech coaches (training provided!) as well as late tech adopters who could benefit from some help with using their cell phones, home computers, and/or tablets. We're also currently in need of a volunteer to manage the program for BTV. Learn more about our tech coaching program.

Village Rides Resumes!

We have resumed offering free rides to our community members who are seniors or disabled. All drivers and riders must wear a mask at all times. Learn more about Village Rides.
